Freezing and cryopreservation of human sperm.
The specific properties, filling method, and sealing of CBS High Security straws, designed for the cryopreservation of human biological samples, ensure complete airtightness, particularly in liquid nitrogen. Made from biocompatible materials, they are suitable for Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and, in particular, for sperm cryopreservation.
The CBS High Security straw comes in the form of a flexible, transparent tube made of ionomer resin.
CBS 0.3 mL model :
This straw contains two distinct parts separated by a white safety cap:
CBS 0.5 mL model :
Same technical characteristics with a usable volume of 0.5 mL and with a coloured outer part of the safety cap.
The straws are filled individually using a sterile, transparent filling tip and a micro-aspirator or a syringe with a specific adapter.
A leak-proof seal is only guaranteed if the seal is applied to clean, dry ends using the SYMS or SYMS III sealer.
For high-volume use (sperm banks for example), CBS High Security straws are filled and sealed with a semi-automatic PACE machine (filling and sealing) or MAPI machine (filling, sealing and printing of the sheath).
The management and organization of the storage of CBS High Security straws kept in liquid nitrogen are ensured through the use of the conditioning and long-term storage accessories offered by Cryo Bio System.
CBS 0.3 mL and 0.5 mL straws can be tamper-evidently identified using alphanumeric and/or barcode information within an identification sleeve.
This sleeve, which can be removed after thawing, ensures sample traceability.
