A color sorting system collects the straws to store the production in Daisy goblets.
The DIVA system proactively manages the consumables needed for production cycles. A production cycle with 2 straws for a primary tube allows for operation of 1h08 minutes without operator intervention. Refilling of consumables can be done on the run, without interrupting the cycle. The operator is informed in real time of the cycle progress.
The DIVA system is a multipurpose straw filling system:
- an embedded computer with a pilot software to manage all cycle functions and security features.
- a touchscreen, used for the user interface, defines the production protocols and information management.
A printer can be paired to the system to print out protocols and production reports. The DIVA system offers connectivity within a network via communication ports for connectivity within a network and data exchange with a laboratory management system.
The flexibility of the DIVA pilot software allows for the management of several aliquoting protocols, with all the security features in keeping with best laboratory practices: information such as identification of the protocol drafter or user is systematically associated with the production report.
Positive identification of the straws can be achieved in different formats (bar code GS1 128 or alphanumerical code). This code can be the single identifier of the primary tube. The DIVA system features an automatic bar code scanner for loading primary tubes and for testing straws. These features guarantee perfect primary tube/aliquot traceability.
The throughput is directly linked to the protocol, aliquot number per primary tube.
Note: DIVA can be extended with the Straw IT DIVA sample storage management software.

All parts potentially contaminated can be easily cleaned with ethanol or a non-corrosive decontaminant fluid.
